A CrossFit Community

Another reason I love CrossFit so much is the CrossFit Community. You go and work out with these people, cheer each other on, tease in all good fun, and when one of you doesn’t show up for a few days, they will find you and bring you back.

A CrossFit Community

For real, you get to know the people in your CrossFit class. Most people show up for a particular time on a regular basis. While most boxes have several different time slots, we as individuals pick the time that suits our schedule the best, so you get to know everyone in your class because they keep showing up to the same time slot too.

A lot of networking goes on and we even do things outside the box. I’ve been to birthday celebrations, workshops, CrossFit Game viewings, and even a jorts party!

This makes for better accountability when you join a community and participate. When you get to know the people in your group, build those relationships and care.

I think this is another big reason I LOVE CROSSFIT so much. I feel a part of and not just a part of but accepted! Being accepted by a community feels great. No one shuns you or mocks you for not being able to do the Rx WOD. There is no shame in scaling a workout. People will cheer you on and encourage you, they don’t judge. The encouragement is incredible! It makes me want to keep going back, again and again, to get better.

Of course, there is some good ole fashion ribbing that goes on but it is after you’ve been there a while and people get to know you and know how far they can push it with you. 😉 It’s all in a good sporting fun.

The box I where I attend and participate recently hosted their first in-house league games. I didn’t sign up for a couple of reasons, 1) I didn’t want to hold anyone back by being on their team, and 2) I’m still a little shy and bashful with this group.

But I did go to the first week’s games to show my support and to cheer them on. I also took some photos and did a few Periscopes of the events.

Anyway, that’s my take on the CrossFit Community. I love it. It is one of the main reason I love CrossFit so much.
