Cost Cutters

Rock Star Platinum
I have a confession to make. I used to be a salon snob. Before I go any further I want to make my disclaimer right now about private salons. It is my opinion that there is absolutely nothing wrong with private salons. If you are a customer of a high-end salon I am by no means calling you a snob. I am calling myself a snob. There is nothing wrong with frequenting one of those independently owned couture salons.

However, if you’d like to save some money and still get a quality hair cut and expert color expertise then I would like to suggest you venture out to Cost Cutters.

Like I said before, I used to go to one of those trendy chic salons, and they did a great job. I just normally paid an arm and a leg for what I wanted. Then one day I joined a local networking group and in this group was a dear friend of mine from long ago. Her name is Terry Ferguson and she is now the manager of the Cost Cutters located inside Wal-Mart on south parkway in Huntsville.

I’ll admit, I was a little nervous at first letting someone else cut my hair. After all, I had searched for so long for someone to do my hair precisely how I liked. But Terry was a good friend of mine and I decided I’d give her a shot. Besides, at the time, our teenage son was away at a private military academy and that took up a massive space in my checkbook and I was looking for creative ways to cut corners and save a few pennies.

I was so impressed with Terry’s haircut and the service I received that I eventually let her take over coloring my hair. Right before I switched to Cost Cutters I allowed my private salon to take my naturally brunette hair all the way to blonde – bright blonde. I have to tell you, it was quite a shock and hard to get used to and I was concerned that I had made a terrible mistake. So once again, I let Terry help me out. She took my brassy blonde to high gloss platinum and I ended up looking like a ROCK STAR. Well, I should say the real rock star here was Terry for totally vamping and revving up my hair. I believe I ended up being a walking billboard for her because it didn’t matter where I went, who I met, or what I was doing; I constantly got high praise and compliments galore for my hair. I took to carrying Terry’s business cards with me everywhere and I must have handed out a box of them for her at one point or another.

The first time I went to the cash register to pay for my new rock star platinum hair, I was holding my breath, waiting for the sound of a large cha-ching and waiting for Terry to ask for my first born. I let out a sigh of relief when she told me the final cost and I didn’t have to go sell my blood in order to be able to eat that night.

Cost Cutters has knowledgeable stylists, the company, staying on top of trending techniques and honing their skills with expertise training continually educate them.

The Cost Cutters products are just as good as any of the pricey brand names too. Once I went platinum Terry recommended I use the Cost Cutter brand Silver Shine shampoo, it neutralizes yellow tones on blonde and gray hair. As soon as I started using that shampoo I never once had another problem with my platinum turning a brassy blonde. A 33.8 fl. oz. cost $16.95. That price is a steal considering I didn’t need to use a huge amount during each shampoo; and I wash my hair twice a day. One of those 33.8 fl. oz. bottles could last me for months. Let’s be conservative and say it lasted for two months, that is only .28 cents a day!

My local Cost Cutters hours are geared to my busy schedule. Monday through Friday they are open until 8:00PM. Of course they are open on the weekends too. You will want to call the Cost Cutters near you to get their specific hours.

Open your mind and close your pocket book, give Cost Cutters a try. At Cost Cutters, they are just your style.

I love Terry! She gave both of my girls great cuts for summer! Now I need to go pay her a visit and get mine taken care of too!

I wish Terry worked closer to me. (I’m in Harvest.) She sounds wonderful. And your hair does look great.

The lady who had been cutting my hair now has cancer and is not doing well at all. I pray she’ll get better, whether she returns to cutting hair or not. But in the meantime I’m settling in with a new girl at Classic Cuts. I don’t like paying big bucks either; been there, done that, and no more. 🙂
