Fayetteville, Tenn Road Trip

Last week my blogging friend Constance Smith and I took a little road trip to Fayetteville, Tennessee. We’ve been trying to do a road trip like this at least once a month. So far we’ve been to Florence, Alabama; Cullman, Alabama; and Birmingham, Alabama together. There are still parts of Birmingham I’d like to go back and see.

Here are some photos from our trip to Fayetteville, Tennessee.

We parked on the inner square by the court house and we began our blog junket. Constance started filming almost immediately. I swear I don’t know how she Vlogs and walks and talks all at the same time. I can’t do it, I cannot multi-task. I had to actually stop and take photos the old fashioned way, on my iPhone, while she was on-the-go filming.

We discovered that Fayetteville had a lot of antique shops. We had a ball going through these cute little boutiques full of memories. However, I started feeling my age because most of the things in the antique places were things I remembered from my childhood.

I still remember my phone number from when I used this type of phone.

My record player was a little more modern than this one but I do remember my grandparents having a cabinet record player like this though. I would love to have one in my home now.

Both Constance and I agreed that we could have stayed for hours and hours in these lovely shops. We didn’t get through all of them and decided we’d have to come back another day.

I saw so many things I wanted. Look at this mink coat! Loved it! Definitely reminded me of my grandmother.

But I did purchase this, I thought fitting considering the line of work I am in; perfumes and such. It works too. I was thrilled to get it. Makes me smile every time I look at it sitting there on my dresser.

Lunch as at Cahoots – the old jail there in Fayetteville. It was fantastic and I do believe I had the best burger in the Tennessee Valley.

Then ice cream was consumed at the cute little Sugar Shack.

On April 18th Fayetteville will have their first annual Slawburger Festival. It is all anyone could talk about while we were there and everyone invited us back to attend. Unfortunately, I have something else to do that day. I think I will try to get to their Charles Dickens event in November though, that sounds fun and I want to meet Abe Lincoln – apparently he attends on a regular basis. 😉 I just HAVE to get myself a little smooch from him.

Anyway, our next adventure may take us to Harvest, Alabama or Decatur, Alabama. We haven’t decided just yet.
